IMI REPRESENTATIVE SPEAK AT THE ROBOTICS – MECHATRONICS TECHNOLOGY IN 4.0 INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION CONFERENCE
29/03/2019
At the conference “Robotics – Mechatronics technology in the 4.0 industrial revolution: Demand and solutions for Vietnamese enterprises” took place on August 21 morning, Vice Minister of Industry and Trade – Cao Quoc Hung said that, Robotics – Mechatronics technology can be considered as one of the pillars of 4.0 industry with smart and digitized factories , as well as many applications in different areas of life.
In 2018, according to the survey results from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s collaborated with the United Nations’s Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on the readiness of Vietnamese enterprises for the Fourth industrial revolution (FIR); the number of Vietnamese enterprises interested in investing, applying new technologies, especially the core technology in the production process was still very low.
Though enterprises are in great demand, there is not enough potential and strategic direction in this investment process. With over 97% of Vietnamese enterprises now being small and medium enterprises, even super small, it is difficult to face challenges in terms of capital, science and technology levels. Human resources and innovation capacity, creativity are still very low. The connection between enterprises and science-technology organizations is still limited and ineffective.
Leaders of ministries and scientists, experts share knowledge at the conference.
“Vietnamese enterprises are facing huge challenges between the demand and the ability to apply Robot & Mechatronics technology in the production process. Businesses need scientists and technology experts to work together to answer the question “Who?” And “How to do it?” to solve these challenges. Therefore, the proposed solutions to implement should have a comprehensive recognition, assessment and the steps must be specific and appropriate to ensure that we successfully receive the opportunities thật Robot & Mechatronics technology in particular and FIR in general can bring to”, Vice Minister Cao Quốc Hưng raised the issue.
Also according to Vice Minister Hung, for Vietnam Innovation Network to grow stronger and spread its values, state departments, businesses, universities, scientists need to soon have specific, practical actions, topics, and projects to join the implementation, serving as a basis for forming inter-connected networks in the field of Robotics & Mechatronics .
In the upcoming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will also support Vietnam Innovation Network in policies to support science and technology, universities and organizations “to attract scientists and specialists. international experts , experts who are Vietnamese in foreign countries as the core to promote research, development and technology transfer activities ”, stipulated in Decision No. 754 / QD-TTg dated May 31, 2017 from the Prime Minister approving the Scheme on applying science and technology in the restructuring Industry and Trade in the period to 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Need to build a tight network
According to Dr. Hoang Viet Hong, Deputy General Director of Industrial Machinery And Instruments Holding (IMI Holding), applying robot technology and automation is popular in the world and brings great effects to the economy, especially the development of businesses.
“Utilizing robots into businesses to produce products can help free labor, increase productivity. In this regard, not only scientists and managers are aware of but also enterprises are showing that they have a great need for robots, especially in industrial robots, ”said Dr. Hoang Viet Hong.
And according to Dr. Hong, in reality, enterprises want to increase the usage of modern technology, many robots serving production process are still facing many difficulties with a series of problems posing about human resources and capital, investment in technology systems, technical qualifications at facilities is still inadequate from production to warehousing …
“There needs to be a shorter link between foreign experts and domestic experts to bring new automation technology into Vietnam’s production process, activities to promote research and investment should also be focused, ”said Dr. Hong.
Dr. Hoang Viet Hong said that there should be a shorter link between the foreign experts and the domestic to bring new technology, automation into Vietnam’s production process.
